SOCPA Board of Directors held its first meeting of the eighth session

Chaired by H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of SOCPA Board, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, SOCPA Board held its first meeting of the eighth session on Thursday, 22.09.1436 H corresponding to 09.07.2015. At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. the Minister welcomed new members of the Board and wished them success in contributing to SOCPA progress, thanking the achievements of their predecessors and the contributions they have made to serve the profession. The meeting began by a brief summary of those achievements and the decisions made during the previous session. Then a number of topics on the agenda were discussed; the most prominent of which was the approval to advance the application of accounting and auditing standards on the financial statements of unlisted entities to start on 01.01 .2017. The meeting also nominated two of the Board members to join membership of the Registration and Investigation Committee. The Board also adopted the results of the first session of 2015 of  SOCPA fellowship examination and granted SOCPA Fellowship certificate to 39 of the accountants who passed all subjects of the examination.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Meghames, SOCPA Secretary General, extended his thanks and appreciation to the ex- members of the Board for their efforts and constructive contributions during their terms of office, and for that of those who preceded them, which all together resulted , after Fadlallah Almighty, in promoting the accounting and auditing profession until it has reached advanced levels locally and internationally. He also hoped that mutual interaction remains stretched with all current and former members, where we wish to always listen to their views because their expertise and experience is indispensable to us..
