A Jury formed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) composed of highly qualified members working in the profession, selected Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-meghames, SOCPA Secretary General, for the Award for excellence in service and development of accounting and auditing profession. This award, as mentioned in the award letter, is a reflection of his leadership of the profession in Saudi Arabia and takes particular note of this accomplishments in developing the profession; his progressive and collaborative approach to taking the profession forward; and his contribution to international platforms and committees of the profession.
Dr. Ahmed referred his receiving of the award as recognition for the level of development and professionalism achieved by SOCPA. Dr. Ahmed, also appreciated the support and encouragement given to SOCPA by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He also thanked SOCPA board of directors, SOCPA Secretariat General staff and SOCPA members for the support presented by them.
The event was organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al- Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development of the United Arab Emirates, and was attended by a group of professionals and specialists from around the Middle East. During this event Dr. Ahmed received the award.
