SOCPA Enhances Partnership with Accounting Departments Across Saudi Universities

The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) held its fifth coordination meeting, hosted by King Khalid University in Abha on the morning of Thursday, September 18, 2025, with the attendance of heads of accounting departments from universities across Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was part of SOCPA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen communication and collaboration with academic institutions, and to explore ways to enhance integration between academic education and professional practice.
The meeting aimed to exchange expertise and knowledge, and to discuss the key challenges shared between SOCPA and universities, in order to support the development of accounting programs, align them with labor market needs, and ensure consistency between academic outcomes and professional requirements.
This gathering comes as part of SOCPA’s initiative to establish a Coordinating Council with Accounting Departments in Saudi Universities, which will be held periodically and hosted by different universities. The council seeks to build sustainable bridges of collaboration, strengthen partnerships in curriculum development, and enrich students’ learning experiences through exposure to modern professional knowledge.
SOCPA emphasized that such meetings play an important role in achieving its objectives of enhancing students’ readiness for the labor market, reaffirming its commitment to support joint initiatives with universities in line with its strategy to empower national talent and serve both the academic and professional communities.
