As part of its oversight efforts to control the quality of professional performance and improve accounting and auditing practices, the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants conducted field visits to address a number of reports related to individuals and entities practicing accounting and auditing illegally within the Kingdom.
These efforts resulted in the referral of a number of cases to the Public Prosecution to complete legal procedures against violators. This step comes within the framework of the Organization's keenness to regulate the profession and ensure that all practitioners adhere to the provisions of the Accounting and Auditing Profession System and its executive regulations.
These acts were reported in accordance with Article 10 of the Accounting and Auditing Profession Law, which criminalizes misleading the public by any means that suggests that the violator has the right to practice the profession without obtaining a regular license, or if the license is revoked or suspended.
The organization affirms its keenness to protect the profession from irregular practices, and calls on everyone to commit to obtaining the necessary licenses before practicing the profession, in order to preserve the quality of professional performance and society's confidence in accounting services. The organization also stressed that protecting the profession and ensuring the competence of practitioners represent one of its basic pillars, stressing its determination to continue monitoring the sector and take the necessary measures to ensure the quality of outputs and the reliability of the competencies working in it.
