The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants, represented by its Accounting Standards Board, participated in the second meeting of the Accounting Standards Advisory Forum of the International Accounting Standards Board, which was held via video call on May 28, 2025. The organization was represented at that meeting by the Executive Director of Professional Standards, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Razeen.
Participants in this meeting discussed guiding examples that the International Board plans to add to a number of international standards to illustrate how the uncertainty component related to climate change affects the application of international standards. During the meeting, participants presented a number of suggestions to improve the proposed examples. Where there is no current link between the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards and International Sustainability Standards, the organization representative suggested that examples be prepared independently and impartially, so that they do not relate to the terminology used in International Sustainability Standards, and that any entity could be guided by examples without being applying or be aware of the requirements of International Sustainability Standards.
