SOCPA Participates in the IFAC Chief Executives Forum
The "IFAC Chief Executives Forum 2025" was held in Amsterdam from April 3-4, with participation from elite professional leaders from various countries around the world. The forum aims to discuss future challenges and opportunities for the accounting profession, exchange experiences between professional institutions, and explore avenues for international cooperation. More than 130 representatives from professional and regulatory bodies worldwide participated in the forum.
The forum sessions addressed various topics including: enhancing new leadership, innovation, attracting talent to the profession, challenges, and the role of professional organizations in creating change. The CEO of the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants, Dr. Ahmed Al-Meghames, participated in the session dedicated to the International Federation of Accountants' engagement with the world "IFAC CONNECTS." The participation highlighted the importance of international communication and the upcoming "IFAC CONNECTS" event to be held in Saudi Arabia in October 2025.
Al-Meghames spoke about the importance of this event, describing "IFAC CONNECT" as an effective means for convergence and strengthening cooperation between the International Federation, regional professional organizations, and regulatory bodies in the Middle East and North Africa region. Saudi Arabia was selected as the host country for this event due to the Kingdom's exemplary professional standards and accounting practices, as well as its proven track record of comprehensive industry development. The event will discuss challenges facing the profession globally in general and challenges facing the profession in the region in particular. Regional professional organizations will also have the opportunity to communicate directly with officials from the International Federation of Accountants to address the challenges they face. The opportunity will also be provided for regulatory bodies in the Kingdom to engage, including the Capital Market Authority, the Central Bank, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, General Court of Audit, Ministry of Education, and other relevant entities.
