On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) hosted a roundtable meeting at its headquarters in Riyadh.
The event was attended by SOCPA’s CEO, Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Al-Moghames; the Chair of the IFRS Foundation Trustees, Mr. Erkki Liikanen; and the Foundation’s Managing Director, Mr. Michel Madelain, alongside representatives from major listed companies, accounting firms, and members of SOCPA's accounting and auditing standards boards.
The meeting aimed to review and discuss the implementation and recent developments of international accounting and sustainability standards.
It is worth noting that SOCPA serves as the exclusive Arabic translator of both the International Accounting Standards and International Sustainability Standards, under an agreement with the IFRS Foundation, the body overseeing the International Accounting Standards Board and the International Sustainability Standards Board.
