SOCPA Publishes the 2023 Edition of the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants on Its Website
As part of its efforts to support the implementation of the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) has published the 2023 edition of the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (including International Independence Standards) adopted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This edition includes several enhancements to the translation of the Code and updates issued by the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), which the SOCPA Committee for Ethics has approved and communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
These updates, published on the SOCPA website, are as follows:
1. Updates to sections related to providing non-assurance services to an audit client.
2. Updates to sections related to threats arising from fees and other compensation.
3. Updates to sections related to quality management.
4. Updates related to the definition of the engagement team and group audits.
5. Updates to sections related to the definition of public interest entities.
6. Updates to the Code concerning technology.
