SOCPA Hosts the 2024 Middle East Accounting Case Study Student Competition
SOCPA has announced its partnership in organizing and hosting the "2024 Middle East Accounting Case Study Student Competition" held annually by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). This competition is open to accounting students from various universities across the Middle East and Africa, and for the first time, submissions can be made in Arabic. This initiative is part of SOCPA's efforts to enhance knowledge in the field of management accounting and to engage students in enriching their knowledge and honing their skills, aligning with Saudi Arabia's strong direction and human capacity development to achieve global competitiveness.
SOCPA explained that the competition aims to analyze and evaluate problems related to this field, encouraging the development of innovative solutions through teams of 3 to 5 members who will present a case study for a company. SOCPA noted that the competition offers valuable financial prizes for the winning teams, as well as several benefits, including grants for the CMA exam.
SOCPA outlined the conditions for participation in the competition, stating that eligible students must be enrolled full-time in undergraduate or graduate programs and must be from the same university or college, with a designated group leader and a faculty advisor from the same institution. Each college or university is eligible to select multiple teams, each consisting of three to five members.
Finally, SOCPA encouraged interested students to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their analytical and creative skills, inviting them to submit their work according to the specified conditions and participate in this unique educational and professional experience. The deadlines for registration and submission of solutions are before March 10, 2024, with the evaluation and selection of shortlisted teams on April 15, 2024, and the competition final to be held in Riyadh on May 1, 2024.
