SOCPA Hosts the "SOCPA Professional Forum" to Elevate Accounting Knowledge and Expertise
On Monday evening, September 18, 2023, the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) hosted the "SOCPA Professional Forum," drawing over 350 attendees holding professional certifications and licenses in accounting and auditing—the event aimed to enhance communication and knowledge exchange among experts and professionals.
The forum featured various activities designed to enrich knowledge and enhance participants' expertise. Notably, the "Makeen" professional support program was launched in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at). This initiative aims to empower and support accountants in establishing their accounting projects.
An introductory presentation was given on the Social Development Bank's financing products for individuals and accounting firms. The speakers highlighted that the bank offers a range of financing options worth up to 10 million SAR, supporting new and existing projects in expanding their services.
In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Almeghames, CEO of SOCPA, commended the organization's efforts in developing the profession and supporting accountants. He expressed his delight with the publication of the Government Accounting Book, which serves as a scientific reference for the accounting community in line with public sector standards and as a valuable contribution to the professional accounting library.
A workshop on "Digital Auditing," presented by Mr. Saleh Al-Yahya, discussed the benefits and challenges of electronic auditing, noting that digital auditing is more compliant with standards compared to traditional methods.
The forum also included consultation sessions offering free services from specialized consultants. Additionally, an exhibition was held featuring various booths from different firms and platforms serving the accounting and auditing sector both scientifically and practically.
At the close of the forum, SOCPA honored its professional partner, Baker Tilly Certified Public Accountants, for their support of the organization's activities and programs. Additionally, SOCPA recognized its partners from participating government entities for their contributions.
The "SOCPA Professional Forum" is one of SOCPA's key annual initiatives, aimed at enhancing accounting knowledge and developing professionals' skills.
