SOCPA refers Several Violators to the Public Prosecution

Among Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professionals Accountants (SOCPA) relentless endeavor to play its role to regulate the accounting and auditing profession, and to control the quality of its performance, SOCPA has conducted a number of field visits and inspections of practitioners. These visits showed the commitment of many offices to the legal controls for practicing the activity. On the other hand, several individual and entity violations of providing accounting and auditing services were detected. Accordingly, the defendants were summoned and their statements were heard, and then they were referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures against them. This was a result of SOCPA's keenness to ensure that the profession is practiced in a systematic manner, and to stop all practices that negatively affect the profession including its practitioners and beneficiaries.
The detected violations were related to Article 10 of the Accounting and Auditing Profession System, "b- misleading the public, by any means, that he has the right to practice the profession while he is not licensed, or his license has been canceled, or he has been suspended or banned from practicing the profession."
It is noteworthy that the accounting and auditing profession witnessed unprecedented progress and improvement in various capabilities after the issuance of its new system in 2021, which enabled SOCPA to play a major role in monitoring the profession and improving the quality of its performance.
