On February 14 2023, Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) organized a "brainstorming workshop" that brought together a number of SOCPA members of Board of Directors, experts, academics, certified accountants, students, and professionals in the accounting and auditing profession in the Kingdom. This workshop aims to discuss the challenges facing the profession, and come up with major strategic initiatives that have an impact on the accounting and auditing profession. The attendees discussed a number of topics related to the profession, such as education, the availability of professional competencies, the quality of companies and accounting offices performance, the availability of accounting services, and the difficulties confronting service providers and beneficiaries. The workshop concluded with a number of important initiatives and an emphasis on supporting and developing the existing initiatives with the intention of consolidating the gains for the advancement of the accounting sector.
