The Saudi Organization for Charted and Professional Accountants (SOCAP) has organized the SOCPA Professional Community Forum today in Riyadh. The forum aims to enhance communication, exchange experiences, and transfer knowledge between those with experience in accounting firms and professionally qualified accountants interested in practicing the profession of accounting and auditing and providing Zakat and tax consultations.
The forum included a workshop entitled "Opportunities for Emerging Firms ", during which the participants discussed a number of topics, the most important of which are: professional licenses, planning to establish a professional firm, how to attract clients and the mechanism for determining professional fees for services.
The workshop also discussed the professional services provided by Chartered Professional Accountants (external audit, internal audit, Zakat and tax, cases, consultations, and Book-keeping) and how to benefit from government platforms that require professional services.
SOCPA stressed its keenness to communicate with those working in the sector through such forums. The forum is an opportunity to listen to them and discuss what is new in the accounting world to encourage and support the practice of the profession, which ultimately contributes to providing high-quality services that enhance confidence in the national economy.
SOCPA's CEO, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Maghamis, said that SOCPA, as the organization concerned with the supervision and advancement of the accounting and auditing profession in the kingdom, is working diligently to provide everything it can to support and develop the discipline. He pointed out that one of the essential objectives of SOCPA is to support those wishing to enter the accounting and auditing profession, prepare them cognitively and professionally, and empower licensees to provide accounting services and supply them with all the capabilities they need. He continued to say that the SOCPA supports everything that would develop and enable the accounting environment to increase the number of licensees. It is noteworthy that the accounting and auditing profession in the kingdom has witnessed unprecedented progress and improvement in various aspects, which was reflected in the increase in the number of professional licensees during the year 2022.
