SOCPA Launches Its Accounting Curriculum
In the ceremony to celebrate new holders of professional certificates on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, SOCPA launched its accounting educational curriculum in the presence of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sudairi and several guests and officials.
This curriculum comes in line with recent developments in the accounting and auditing profession, and it is part of SOCPA's role in supporting the educational process for the accounting major in the Kingdom. SOCPA is the first professional body in the Kingdom to establish a curriculum that keeps up with the profession.
The curriculum, which is known as the SOCPA curriculum, was developed for bachelor’s degrees in accounting. It is based on the needs of the stakeholders and was written in cooperation with a group of select faculty members and with the help of international expertise. It is intended to be a guiding manual for universities to build their study plans according to the needs of the labor market and produce qualified national graduates, enhance the quality of outputs and increase success rates in accounting professional exams.
SOCPA recommends universities in the Kingdom take advantage of the new educational curriculum and use it to build their accounting courses. The curriculum serves 45 public and private universities and colleges and more than 35,000 students who study in accounting major.
