SOCPA Holds Meeting of the General Assembly
SOCPA's General Assembly convened via a live feed on the 30th of May 2022. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Abdul Mohsen bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, a member of the Board of Directors. The meeting agendas included approving SOCPA's 2021 financial statements, approving the 2021 board's report on SOCPA's activities, the appointment of SOCPA's statements auditor for 2023, and determining his remuneration.
The meeting started with a speech by Mr. Al-Faris where he welcomed the members and praised the efforts made during 2021, most notably approving the Law of the Profession of Accounting and Auditing, its executive regulation, and the Statute of the Saudi Organization for Charted and Professional Accountants.
After that, the CEO of SOCPA, Dr. Ahmed Al-Maghamis, reviewed SOCPA's achievements in 2021 and the future strategic directions, which aim to raise the quality of professional performance, increase the number of accounting firms, and practitioners of the profession and develop national professional capabilities in the field.
After that, the assembly's agendas were reviewed and members were given the chance to discuss and ask questions. The assembly meeting was finally concluded by announcing the voting results on the items.
