SOCPA and ACCA Sign a Partnership Agreement

SOCPA has entered into a professional partnership with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The partnership includes granting SOCPA's fellowship holders exemptions from some of the ACCA exam papers, creating new joint professional certificates, and developing field-training programs ending with employment in major accounting firms. The ACCA will also help in training continuous professional quality control and performance reviewers. The partnership will also include organizing joint events, seminars and conducting research, in addition to cooperating in the field of supporting small and medium professional firms (SMPs).
The memorandum was signed by the CEO of the SOCPA, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Maghamis, and the Head of ACCA Middle East Ms. Fazeela Gopalani.
On this occasion, the CEO of SOCPA, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Maghamis, said that this agreement stems from SOCPA's keenness to enhance cooperation with international organizations and learn from their experiences. He also added that SOCPA will continue to expand its international partnerships to support the accounting and auditing profession in the Kingdom and develop its members' skills and qualify them to meet the changing needs of the market. Such agreements, he added, make it easier for young Saudis to obtain internationally accredited professional certificates, adding that obtaining these reputable international professional certificates contributes to providing the qualified manpower needed by the various economic sectors, which leads to raising the quality of information and financial reports and enhances the Kingdom’s professional standing internationally.
For her part, the Head of ACCA Middle East, Ms. Fazeela Gopalani, said "We are pleased to sign this partnership, which enhances our commitment to the profession within the Kingdom and marks the beginning of a successful partnership. We look forward to working closely with the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) on many projects and initiatives aimed at developing the accounting and finance profession within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and developing specialists in the field of accounting and finance.”
It is noteworthy that the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is one of the most prestigious institutions in the field of accounting at the international level, and was founded in 1904 and has members from 181 countries.
