UNCTAD Chooses SOCPA to Train Representatives from Other Professional Bodies
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) chose SOCPA to provide a course in accounting for Small and Medium-Sized Entities (SMEs) in the MENA region. These courses aim to qualify representatives of professional bodies who work in the accounting sector for SMEs in Arab countries.
The decision by UNCTAD to choose SOCPA is a vote of confidence that highlights the state and level of the accounting and auditing sector in the kingdom. It is also a recognition of SOCPA's role in the development of human resources in the sector. SOCPA as a professional body is more than capable and willing to provide help, support, and consultation for other professional bodies.
CEO of SOCPA, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Meghames, thanked UNCTAD for choosing SOCPA to provide this course, noting that SOCPA will hold a training course on February 15 for two days for representatives of professional bodies from various Arab countries. Dr. Al-Meghames explained that SOCPA worked on translating the training manual for accounting in Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), in addition to preparing the training packages and slides for trainers.
He also added: "the profession of accounting and auditing in the kingdom is witnessing a remarkable development and SOCPA has become one of the prominent international professional bodies that contribute to other professional bodies. This success is a result of the great care and support of the government of the custodian of the two holy mosques, the crown prince and His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and chairman of the board of Directors of SOCPA".
