SOCPA Organizes a Seminar Titled "Recent Developments in Zakat and Taxes and Their Integration Into Accounting Curricula"
SOCPA, in cooperation with Prince Sultan University (PSU), organized a seminar titled "Recent Developments in Zakat and Taxes and Their Integration Into Accounting Curricula". The seminar is part of the initiative to align education outcomes with labor market requirements.
The seminar started with a speech by Dr. Musab al Naeem, member of the Education and Training Committee at SOCPA, in which he welcomed the attendees and participants, and emphasized the importance of the seminar in the development of Zakat and tax related research and studies given the recent transformations and changes in the field in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The panel discussion was attended by a group of distinguished speakers, such as Dr. Khalid bin Fawzan al Fahad, Head of Accounting at the Saudi Electronic University and Mr. Khalid Al Dhaheri, a Zakat and Tax Advisor at the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
The seminar covered a number of topics including the transformation of the Zakat and tax field under Saudi Vision 2030, the collection of Zakat, and the current state of Zakat and Tax research in the kingdom, in addition to a discussion on the role of accounting departments in educational institutions in qualifying nationals for the modern business environment. The seminar also focused on Zakat-related legislations under the kingdom's vision 2030 and harmonizing the outputs of scientific institutions with the zakat and tax consultations market.
It is worth mentioning that the organization of this event is part of SOCPA's efforts under the initiative to align education outcomes with labor market requirements, which aims to support accounting education in the Kingdom and study the labor market and its needs.
