SOCPA Organizes a Focus Group with Accounting Alumni from Saudi Universities
SOCPA, in cooperation with Prince Sultan University (PSU), organized an event as part of the initiative to align education outcomes with labor market requirements under the title "Focus Group with Accounting Alumni from Saudi Universities". The focus group was moderated by Dr. Ziad Al-shanaifi and Dr. Samar Al-Sayed from the Department of Accounting at PSU with the participation of a number of graduates from various Saudi universities.
The session opened with a speech by Dr. Musab al Naeem, member of the Education and Training Committee at SOCPA, in which he welcomed the attendees and thanked them for their active participation, explaining SOCPA's goals through this event to discuss ideas and best practices, which reflect the knowledge and skills required in accounting students and contributes to the development of university curriculum.
The focus group discussed many topics including the main topics to be included in the accounting curriculum, the basic skills needed by the labor market, the way universities prepare students for the labor market, as well as the professional certificates recommended by accounting graduates, and the extent to which professional certificates enhance the employability of accounting graduates. The discussion also focused on the challenges facing graduates of accounting in the labor market, and the extent to which building a curricula compatible with labor market requirements will contribute to achieving student's goal and prepare them in a better way.
it is worth mentioning that the organization of this event is part of SOCPA's efforts under the initiative to align education outcomes with labor market requirements, in cooperation with PSU, which aims to support accounting education in the Kingdom and study the labor market and its needs.
