SOCPA conducts a Training Course for Civil Defense Employees
SOCPA carried out a training course for employees of the General Directorate of Civil Defense, which lasted for five days, and dealt with the first level of the transition project to accounting accrual basis.
The course aimed to provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills that will enable them to facilitate the transformation of their government entities to accrual accounting. The course focused on familiarizing participants with the strategic framework and objectives of the transformation, in addition to training them on the application of the governance mechanism of the transformation project and on the preparation of financial statements in accordance with
accrual accounting in the public sector. The course covered several subjects, the most important of which were: what can enable the transition of government entities to accrual basis, preparation of opening balances, in addition to the guiding structure of financial affairs when switching to accrual basis, and the accounting cycle according to accrual basis in the public sector.
It is worth mentioning that SOCPA has worked to sustain cooperation and continue its work to ensure the success of the accounting transformation project, due to its great importance in raising the efficiency of the accounting staff in preparing financial statements on the basis of accounting accrual, which strengthens the kingdom's position on many relevant global indicators.
