SOCPA's Audit Standards Committee Holds A Workshop On Accounting Services For Judicial Sector

SOCPA represented by the Audit Standards Committee organized a workshop to discuss the accounting services provided to the judiciary, in which a number of eminent judges and chartered accountants participated. The workshop was held remotely on Monday 27-02-1443 H (04-10-2021).
The workshop was opened with a speech by Mr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Amash, chairman of the Audit Standards Committee, where he welcomed the participants and stressed the importance of this topic, which comes within the framework of the committee's interest in organizing the accounting services provided to the judiciary. The committee is also keen on identifying the current situations of the said services in order to know whether they fall under the currently adopted standards or need to have their own requirements.
Mr. Al-Amash also pointed out that it is hoped that this workshop will make us learn about the nature of the services required by the judicial authorities from the chartered accountants, and how the accountants can meet such services as well as the contents of the reports they need to provide.
After that, the workshop agendas were reviewed by Mr. Rashid Awaji, and they include:
1. Introduction to Judicial Accounting.
2. Relevant laws and regulations.
3. Relevant standards.
4. Discussion of the services needed by the judiciary.
5. Discussion of engagement letter and scope of work.
6. Discussion of the contents of reports submitted to the judiciary.
