The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) took part in the Emerging Economies Group (EEG) meeting which was organized online by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) on the 12th of July 2021. In the meeting, the IASB presented two of its projects namely "Disclosure Initiative - Reviewing Disclosures Based On Targeted Standards" and "Management Commentary".

The IASB aims by holding this meeting to present the two projects to a competent group of interested parties and to explore views on the board's approach and direction vis-à-vis these projects.

SOCPA was represented by Mr. Ihsan Makhdoom, member of the Accounting Standards Committee, and Dr. Abdulrahman Al Razeen, Executive Director of Professional Standards. The SOCPA representatives provided several general notes and views on these projects, with detailed notes to be provided to the IASB after the projects are examined by the Accounting Standards Committee.
