SOCPA hosted the tenth meeting of the G20 emerging economies

Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) hosted the tenth meeting of the G20 emerging economies group formed by the Board of Trustees of the IFRS Foundation, which mainly aims to support the participation of these economies in the preparation of international standards. This group includes the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa and Turkey.   
The meeting was held on Tuesday and Wednesday 19-20 Safar 1437 AH corresponding to December 1- 2, 2015 in Riyadh City. The main topic of discussion was the consultation on the priorities of IASB board agenda for the next five years, in addition to a number of topics concerning the emerging economies.
It is worth pointing out that the Board of Trustees of the IFRS Foundation financial report includes in its membership Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Hamid, as the first member from the Arab and Islamic states, which reflects a recognition of the remarkable development  achieved by SOCPA and the accounting and auditing profession in the Kingdom, and now SOCPA  became one of the global professional bodies whose members are deployed to participate in international boards and committees. Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants is a member of a number of committees set up by IFRS Foundation Board of Trustees and the International Accounting Standards Board.
