SOCPA organizes Saudi Accountants Forum

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, SOCPA organized the Saudi Accountants Forum "SAF" in its first edition, under the slogan "Accounting and auditing career aspirations of the future".  During the period 27-29 January 2020.
The Saudi accountants Forum, which is held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, has achieved a large attendance, with more than 33,000 visitors and the participation of 70 international and local speakers, through which many events were held with the participation of more than 190 entities representing the government and private sectors and students of Saudi universities.
The forum included 8 dialogue sessions, 24 free workshops with certified certificates, and the total beneficiaries of the workshops reached 4,000, and SOCPA provided 1,000 free educational seats for the fellowship and VAT programs, and honored 1,000 people who received their professional certificates.
The Sessions highlighted the reality of the accounting and auditing profession market and its future to build the skills of accounting graduates, and guide them towards the development of the profession in order to achieve a prosperous economy and increase the number of qualified accountants, followed by discussing the financial environment in the kingdom, by presenting the regulations to all related to accountant’s work provided by relevant entities.  
Through the workshops, a variety of financial topics were presented to the attendees, aiming to consolidate the best applicable practices related to the fields of accounting and auditing, enrich discussions, trade experiences, achieve opportunities for communication between those of interest and competence, review the most important and latest applications and technical trends of accounting and auditing, the most prominent challenges facing the sector, and
the forum also highlighted the accounting and auditing profession and its key role in achieving the objectives of the kingdom's Vision 2030 and contributing to building a thriving economy.
 The participation of Saudi Aramco as a strategic partner is an activation of its leading role in social responsibility to support the profession and enhance its role and enable its employees to benefit from distinguished international expertise, which reflects the impact on the building blocks of the kingdom's economy and enhance transparency and government. Aramco has allocated workshops though the Academy which held in the same exhibition center and discussed professional certificates in accounting and finance and touched upon the importance of government, risks and control, developments in the income tax system and the Zakat collection system in the Kingdom.
The Secretary General of SOCPA, Dr. Ahmed Al-maghames, explained that the successes achieved for the forum were the result of efforts exerted and great support provided by Aramco by sponsoring this largest professional event in the Middle East, stressing that Aramco's support for such forums enhances the kingdom's standing and progress in various fields,also stating that all members of this profession are hoping for sustainability for partnerships between SCOPA and Aramco to support accountant profession which is considered main motive for the progress and prosperity of countries.
