SOCPA's Board of Directors, chaired by H.E. Dr. Majed Al-Qassabi, has approved the organization's new strategy for 2026–2030. The strategy aims to lead a comprehensive professional transformation that increases the attractiveness of the accounting and auditing profession, enhances professional excellence, and achieves global leadership for the Saudi accounting sector in support of Saudi Vision 2030.
The strategy is built on 9 strategic objectives that define SOCPA's direction for the coming phase, translated into 18 strategic initiatives delivered through 38 projects spanning all aspects of the professional ecosystem - including regulation, practice quality, stakeholder experience, institutional enablement, and strengthening international standing. The strategy also adopts an integrated measurement framework comprising 30 strategic indicators to ensure systematic progress tracking and impact assessment.
A key focus of the strategy is strengthening compliance with professional standards as the foundation for ensuring the quality of financial reporting and protecting the national economy, alongside improving the stakeholder experience and raising the profession's attractiveness.
The strategy also drives the development of institutional enablers by building internal capabilities, advancing digital transformation, and enhancing human resource efficiency - enabling SOCPA to carry out its regulatory and professional roles more effectively and supporting the sustainability of institutional performance.
Internationally, the strategy focuses on strengthening the global presence of the Saudi accounting sector and expanding participation in the development of professional standards and policies, establishing it as an influential professional reference point that reflects the maturity of the Saudi experience in regulating and developing the profession.
In this context, SOCPA CEO Dr. Ahmed Al-Meghames said that the strategy's approval marks a turning point in the profession's development journey. He affirmed that the strategy will drive the quality of professional practice in a way that strengthens confidence in outputs and links standards implementation with compliance within a clear methodology that measures impact and ensures sustainability.
He explained that the new strategy is built on three main pillars: achieving professional excellence through an integrated professional ecosystem that ensures the quality of practices and meets the needs of all stakeholders; strengthening the position of the Saudi accounting sector as an active and influential partner in the profession's development globally; and achieving institutional excellence for SOCPA to ensure the efficient and effective execution of the strategy.
He concluded by noting that SOCPA has devoted its full efforts during the past period to developing a strategy that contributes to achieving Saudi Vision 2030 objectives for the accounting and financial sector, raising confidence in financial reports and statements so that the Saudi accounting sector continues its regional and global leadership and becomes an inspiring model for professional transformation and practice.
