The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) announced the launch of #Accounting_Disclosures, a professional knowledge initiative aimed at enriching practitioners and delivering accounting knowledge that highlights its core components, including standards, practices, guidelines, and pronouncements, as well as errors identified through professional inspection data and ways to address them. The initiative seeks to enhance the quality of accounting and auditing outputs and raise the efficiency of professional practice.
SOCPA's CEO, Dr. Ahmed Al-Meghames, explained that the initiative is part of SOCPA's ongoing efforts to develop the profession and improve the quality of application by providing knowledge-based disclosures that bridge the gap between knowledge and practice. It also addresses recurring areas of deficiency identified through professional inspection activities, supporting professional judgment and mitigating risks.
He confirmed that the Accounting Disclosures initiative focuses on transforming professional knowledge from a theoretical framework into clear, practical content that helps practitioners understand the causes of common errors and the mechanisms to avoid them. The initiative reinforces compliance with professional standards and established best practices. He further noted that the initiative will contribute to raising professional awareness of accounting issues and changes in the professional environment, as well as supporting the quality of outputs in a way that positively impacts confidence in financial reports.
