The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), in partnership with the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), has released the Arabic edition of the updated "Strategic Planning Tools for Professional Accountancy Organizations (PAOs)," titled the "Learning and Continuous Improvement Edition 2025." This release is part of a joint effort to support the development of Professional Accountancy Organizations and strengthen their readiness to keep pace with evolving professional and regulatory landscapes.
The updated edition builds on IFAC's ongoing commitment to supporting Professional Accountancy Organizations worldwide. It aims to help them build more agile and sustainable institutional capacities, reinforce their role in serving the public interest, and raise the standards of governance, accountability, and transparency across the profession.
The new publication takes a comprehensive approach to the strategic transformation of professional organizations. It focuses on enabling them to develop clear strategies grounded in an effective value proposition that reflects member needs and stakeholder expectations. Through practical tools and simplified models, the publication helps organizations define their vision, mission, and strategic objectives, analyze internal and external environments, and engage stakeholders from the early stages to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
The guide also addresses turning strategy into practice through the action plan. It outlines how to develop work plans, identify priority initiatives, allocate resources, and set measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) to support effective implementation and improve follow-up efficiency. The publication completes this pathway by focusing on monitoring and reporting. It promotes continuous assessment, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of periodic and annual reports to enhance transparency and support evidence-based decision-making.
Both parties emphasized that this publication serves as a practical tool for continuous learning and ongoing improvement. It is an important reference for Professional Accountancy Organizations at all levels of institutional maturity, helping them adapt to rapid changes and deliver sustainable value to the profession and society.
